- Low-cost carriers quickly adding more flights to South and Central America – Budget airlines, such as JetBlue, Southwest, and Spirit Airlines, are rapidly expanding their destination network by adding more flights to South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. (NY Times)
- JFK airport employees arrested in mini-bottle theft – 18 employees at New York City’s JFK airport were arrested for establishing a ring that stole over 100,000 mini-bottles of alcohol from American Airlines, along with other goods, such as duty-free cigarettes, larger bottles of liquor, and perfume. - Norwegian Cruise Line launches Spanish-language site - Norwegian Cruise Line is trying to accommodate their Spanish-speaking customers by launching a new Spanish language Web site. (NY Times)
- Emirates Airlines say they won’t join any global airline alliances - Emirates Airlines has confirmed that they don’t plan on following the paths of many of their competitors in joining one of the three large airline alliances in the world – oneworld, Star Alliance, and SkyTeam. (USA Today)
