- American Airlines, US Airways one step closer to merger – American Airlines and US Airways are one step closer to a potential merger. The companies said Friday they signed legal documents allowing them to confidentially exchange information. (USA Today)
- Lufthansa flight attendants strike, forcing numerous cancellations – Lufthansa FA’s walked off the job Friday at Germany’s Frankfurt airport, the busiest one in the country, causing more than 200 flights to be canceled, including flights to New York City, Boston, and Seattle.
