  • jetBlue launches new premium service for transcontinental flights – The budget US carrier will begin offering a higher class of service, called “Mint,” including lie-flat seats and power outlets, on routes from New York City to Los Angeles, and later to San Francisco, in 2014. (CNN)
  • New York City introduces free public wi-fi – Across the 5 NYC boroughs, the public can access free wireless internet, with more to come. (Mike Bloomberg)
  • Kayak to expand to more countries – The flight booking flight popular in the US has already expanded recently to hotels and cars and package deals; Kayak has plans to expand to eight other countries now: Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, and Belgium, and they’ve recently launched in Australia and the Netherlands.   • Helsinki airport to offer free lounge for all passengers – The international airport of Finland’s capital city, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, is opening a unique lounge for all passengers to use that will offer sleep and desk pods, free of charge. (DJ)
