Strandvägen, which is Swedish for “Shore Street,” is known as one of the fanciest addresses in Sweden’s capital city of Stockholm. Located in the Östermalm district of Stockholm right along the canal that separates it from Djurgården, this boulevard earned its value and prestige mainly by being the most ideal address for foreign embassies; it is part of the neighborhood called Diplomatstaden, which means “Diplomat City.”

The eastern end of the street ends right near the Djurgårdsbron bridge, near where this picture was taken from, which leads over the Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen from Östermalm to the central island of Djurgården where many different, quintessential Stockholm attractions are located, such as the Vasa Museum.
