  • There’s a ride-on, motorized suitcase – A Chinese farmer has concluded 10 years of development and introduced a suitcase-scooter hybrid, one that weighs 7 kg and can go up to 20 kmh (12 mph). (BBC)
  • American to fly between Dallas and HK, Shanghai – American Airlines has added new routes with its new daily nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Hong Kong and Shanghai. (USA Today)
  • Love weighs heavily on famous Parisian bridge – A portion of the famed Pont des Arts footbridge over the Seine in central Paris, France has collapsed due to the enormous weight of the love locks that continue to be placed on it by couples visiting the city. (NBC)

  • Expedia to start using Bitcoin – The travel search giant becomes one of the latest corporations, and one of the first in the travel industry, to allow payment using the virtual currency. (TC)
  • Copenhagen Airport wins top food honors – The FAB Awards 2014, organized by Moodie, has granted the Nordic airport the distinction of having the best “Airport Food & Beverage Offer of the Year,” a sentiment that the city constantly enjoys anyway. (Skift)
  • United adds flight to China’s 4th-largest city – United becomes the first US airline to fly nonstop to mainland China outside Shanghai and Beijing, as it adds a nonstop flight from its San Francisco hub to Chengdu, the fourth-largest city in China. (USA Today)
  • jetBlue launches its new Mint service – The fast-growing budget carrier debuts its “Mint” business class service for flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport tomorrow. (CNN)
  • Miami becomes latest Qatar destination – New air service between Doha, Qatar and Miami, Florida starts with the inaugural flight landing this past Tuesday with Qatar Airways. (Miami Herald)
