China is still a mystery to many of us. Though it is the 3rd largest country in the world by land area, and the most populous, the Western world still has a hard time figuring out what China is all about.
China, officially the People’s Republic of China, sits on the southeastern corner of mainland Asia. While the last decade has seen China fly past the rest of the world in expectations, in everything from dense cities appearing out of nowhere seemingly overnight to electronics and technology, China still retains much of its past splendor and history. This is visible throughout most of the country, especially outside of the large cities, and rightly so; it is one of the oldest civilizations on Earth.
The vast country is sure to intrigue any visitor. From ancient medicinal practices still in use today, to the myths that are still repeated and passed down to subsequent generations – China is as much “old” as it is new.
