966 CE

'Baptism' of Poland

Duke Mieszko I adopts Catholicism.


1st King of Poland

Bolesław I the Brave, the Duke of Poland, becomes the first King of Poland.

1326 - 1332

Polish–Teutonic War


Polish 'Sejm' (Parliament) Founded

1519 - 1521

Another Polish–Teutonic War

1863 - 1864

January Uprising

Poland annexed by Russia.



Poland gains its independence.


Poland Becomes a Communist People’s Republic

13 Sep 1989

Republic of Poland Established


Poland Joins NATO


Poland Joins European Union.
